The Mind Your Health Podcast is about all things Gut Health! As a healthcare practitioner with over 25 years of experience, Dr. Connie Cheung focuses on a holistic approach integrating her educational background in Psychology, Nutrition, Physical Therapy, Functional Medicine, and Yoga. She started the Mind Your Health Podcast to help as many people as possible get rid of pesky gut symptoms so that they can look and feel their best while living their fullest lives. Dr. Connie has struggled and lived with life threatening autoimmune conditions, and she’s personally experienced the limitations in our current medical and holistic healthcare systems. She finds that our current health and wellness systems are broken due to their over-emphasis on treating only the parts and pieces of the puzzle, rather than considering the WHOLE body. It’s her mission in life to help those suffering from chronic symptoms or illnesses by helping them get to the TRUE root cause, as opposed to offering surface level approaches that fail to address the whole body. Gut health is the foundation for optimal health. In the Mind Your Health Podcast, Dr. Connie shares her knowledge and personal EXPERIENCE, while providing simple and practical solutions that are not only scientifically based, but timeless and effective which will help deliver long-term vitality and health from the inside-out. Her unique perspective in putting together both Eastern and Western medical concepts in an easy-to-follow framework that you can easily APPLY in your own life will be life changing, giving you confidence in yourself to live your healthiest life. For the most part, autoimmunity is an invisible disease. When Dr. Connie was married, she struggled with meeting the needs of her ex-husband, especially when she felt so misunderstood and unsupported by him. Marriage struggles are common for autoimmune patients, and it's one we must take a closer look at as a perpetuating factor in our autoimmune symptoms.

90% of all that you are and do everyday is dictated by your subconscious mind. Subconscious means under the surface. We don't recognize the hidden motivation that drives our behavior. This is why it's so hard to change what we do because when we try to change the behaviors themselves (the "doing") it is still the subconscious identity (who you are) that is engaging you to automatically behave a certain way without thinking. In order for you to truly make necessary changes to transform and heal, you must reprogram your subconscious mind to align with your goals. It's as simple as focusing on what you want rather than focusing on what you don't want.

In pursuing holistic healing or conventional treatments for autoimmunity, many patients seek tangible or superficial approaches to help their bodies. But ultimately this is a broken strategy because all that you "do" doesn't make you healthy. You have to first BE healthy in order to DO all the things to help your body heal.
