The Mind Your Health Podcast is about all things Gut Health! As a healthcare practitioner with over 25 years of experience, Dr. Connie Cheung focuses on a holistic approach integrating her educational background in Psychology, Nutrition, Physical Therapy, Functional Medicine, and Yoga. She started the Mind Your Health Podcast to help as many people as possible get rid of pesky gut symptoms so that they can look and feel their best while living their fullest lives. Dr. Connie has struggled and lived with life threatening autoimmune conditions, and she’s personally experienced the limitations in our current medical and holistic healthcare systems. She finds that our current health and wellness systems are broken due to their over-emphasis on treating only the parts and pieces of the puzzle, rather than considering the WHOLE body. It’s her mission in life to help those suffering from chronic symptoms or illnesses by helping them get to the TRUE root cause, as opposed to offering surface level approaches that fail to address the whole body. Gut health is the foundation for optimal health. In the Mind Your Health Podcast, Dr. Connie shares her knowledge and personal EXPERIENCE, while providing simple and practical solutions that are not only scientifically based, but timeless and effective which will help deliver long-term vitality and health from the inside-out. Her unique perspective in putting together both Eastern and Western medical concepts in an easy-to-follow framework that you can easily APPLY in your own life will be life changing, giving you confidence in yourself to live your healthiest life. Much of what you do everyday is on autopilot. This is the part of the mind that we refer to in our Alkaline Method™ as the subconscious mind. Subconscious meaning you are not “aware”. The flip side to this is the conscious mind, which is the second element of the Alkaline Method™. What’s important for you to recognize is that 90% of all that you think, feel, and do is based on past conditioning directly from your subconscious mind. Your conscious mind can only direct 10% of all that you do. This is why many autoimmune patients keep using a broken strategy that focuses on the “doing”, when in fact they should focus on the “being”, which is housed in the subconscious mind. The identity that you hold in your subconscious mind is exactly what you are playing out. If you find your results less than ideal, then you may be perpetually sabotaging yourself.

90% of what we do is done subconsciously. To understand what the subconscious mind is, you must understand the concept of automation and habit. Everything you think, feel, and do, day in and day out, is a result of conditioned habitual patterns. You are operating on autopilot, which means you’re not aware of the decisions you make each day - they are already made for you based on your habits. In order for you to truly heal from autoimmunity, you must learn to tame your brain to have longevity and health.
