The Mind Your Health Podcast is about all things Gut Health! As a healthcare practitioner with over 25 years of experience, Dr. Connie Cheung focuses on a holistic approach integrating her educational background in Psychology, Nutrition, Physical Therapy, Functional Medicine, and Yoga. She started the Mind Your Health Podcast to help as many people as possible get rid of pesky gut symptoms so that they can look and feel their best while living their fullest lives. Dr. Connie has struggled and lived with life threatening autoimmune conditions, and she’s personally experienced the limitations in our current medical and holistic healthcare systems. She finds that our current health and wellness systems are broken due to their over-emphasis on treating only the parts and pieces of the puzzle, rather than considering the WHOLE body. It’s her mission in life to help those suffering from chronic symptoms or illnesses by helping them get to the TRUE root cause, as opposed to offering surface level approaches that fail to address the whole body. We are back this week for part 2 of our 3-part series where I share with you my personal story and how Functional Yoga Medicine as a methodology came to be, in hopes that it helps you recognize YOUR role in your health and wellness journey.
In part 2, I'll be talking more about my personal health journey, but more importantly, the PATTERNS I now recognize looking back that I believe contributed to various health struggles I've had along the way. It's true that how you do anything is how you do everything, so I've also realized it was these same patterns that pushed me to continue searching for answers to my autoimmune and gut issues, eventually leading me to create Functional Yoga Medicine as a Self Healthcare System that has not only helped me heal, but many of my patients and clients as well.
All in all, if you want to create something you don't currently have, like optimal health, it's crucial to bring awareness to your patterns that are either bringing you closer to what you want, or further away.
In this episode, I share about:

🌿My patterns when it came to school, eating, and exercising, and how these patterns eventually led to my autoimmune diagnosis
